Elizabeth was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. In 2017, she moved with her family to Tuscaloosa—the town where her father grew up—and enrolled at The University of Alabama. Drawn to work that would engage both her analytical mind and her creative instincts, she found that balance in interior design. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the university's CIDA-accredited program, graduating through the Honors College, and moved to Birmingham shortly thereafter.

What Elizabeth finds most compelling about design is the problem within it: a kitchen that cannot comfortably accommodate two people at once, a new roofline that must resolve against an existing one, or a required exit that has to land where the architecture resists it. She is most engaged when there is a plan in front of her and something within it that has yet to be resolved.

To Elizabeth, good design begins with how a space works. She addresses proportion, circulation, code, construction, and detail with intention. She believes the best spaces are designed not only for the present, but for the way the people who use them will grow and change. When those decisions are made well, beauty becomes a natural result.

Elway & Co became a full-time studio in January 2025, founded on the belief that strong design should remain clear and intentional from idea to execution. Because every project is different, the studio's role is tailored to each one—whether that means planning, drawings, selections, or broader design support. Whatever the scope, the focus remains the same: thoughtful, practical design carried out with clarity and care.
